Representatives of Consulate General of Iran Islamic Republic visited Satbayev University
A meeting was held with Consul General of Iran Islamic Republic in Almaty Mohsen Feghani and Cultural attache Hossein Aghazade. The guests were greeted by University’s Rector Meiram Begentayev and Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Bakhyt Zhautikov.
The meeting was dedicated to the acquaintance and wide opportunities of Iran in higher technical education sphere. During the meeting, the cooperation of Satbayev University with Iranian universities in education and science sphere was discussed. Mohsen Feghani proposed to expand cooperation, starting with the academic mobility of students and teachers, as well as short-term practical courses for students.
Iran is one of the oldest countries in the world. Higher education is free in this country, although, like in any other country, there are commercial universities here. Today, education is one of the main areas to which the Iranian authorities pay considerable attention. According to the results of 2008, Iran became one of the world leaders in terms of the pace of scientific advancement. Innovation in the country is developing rapidly, as is technical education. Iran is home to one of the most prestigious universities in the Middle East – University of Tehran. The second university in the country, Sharif University of Technology, is among the 1000 best universities in the world.
There are a total of 40 technical higher educational institutions in the country, known for their programs in the nuclear field, biotechnology, engineering, oil and gas fields, which opens up wide opportunities for training and exchange of experience. Students have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the unique and diverse culture of Iran. Education in this country also provides unique perspectives for studying the history, art and language.
