Satbayev University and AlmaU have opened a project on commercializing the scientific discoveries

On February 20, 2023, Alibek Shokparov, Vice-Rector for Science and International Relations of Satbayev University, met with AlmaU Rector Gulnar Kurenkeyeva, as well as the document on cooperation between the two universities was signed.

At the meeting, Universities’ Heads came to an agreement on the joint commercialization of scientific discoveries. Satbayev University will act as an innovative partner developing engineering ideas in geology, metallurgy, hydrogeology and oil-gas industry sphere. AlmaU will provide its expertise as a business school with a strong marketing and entrepreneurial component.

As part of the joint work, both universities will use AlmaU Technology Commercialization Center to assist in development and monetization of Satbayev University projects.

Center's specialists will evaluate the concept and budget of the project, think over, think of the ways of monetizing the research, increase its cost and attract investors, manage the stages of scientific research, draw up roadmaps for each project’s advancement. After that, the project will undergo incubation and acceleration.

The opportunity to participate is open to both experienced scientists and young startups. Satbayev University and AlmaU hope to see the first successes of the given collaboration already this year.
