Satbayev University and China Coal Technology & Engineering Group signed a cooperation agreement

On August 10, on the visit initiated by China Coal Technology & Engineering Group a trilateral cooperation agreement was signed. This cooperation opens a new page in the industrial production of methane in Kazakhstan, (CCTEG).

Under the agreement, CCTEG and Satbayev University will conduct joint research in the field of exploration and production of coal methane, implementation of investment projects in the field of gas processing and liquefaction (LNG), gas compression (CNG), will train professional personnel, undergraduates and candidates for a doctor's degree.

“This is a very important agreement for our country,” says managing director of Satbayev University Chingiz Chernyazdanov,. - Kazakhstan has large deposits of methane, the extraction technology of which is quite complex. Therefore, it was felt that to extract methane and make money on methane is as unlikely as science fiction. And now, thanks to this agreement, we get not only access to the best methane extraction technologies of China, but also a training program for our engineers.”

We conducted a presentation of implemented projects for the exploration and production of coal methane. Satbayev University Engineers familiarized themselves with Chinese technologies, which are used in the construction and intensification of wells for coal methane extraction. We also agreed to launch a training program for Kazakh engineers at Coal Technology & Engineering Group enterprises.

Coal Technology & Engineering Group is a national Chinese corporation with a leading position in the coal industry in China. The corporation has more than 30,000 employees, the total income for 2017 amounted more than 6 billion dollars. According to CCTEG, coal methane production has now reached about 17 billion cubic meters per year.
