Satbayev University and Grenoble INP - Phelma has launched Dual degree program in nuclear engineering

Satbayev University is expanding international cooperation with Europe's leading engineering school. An agreement has been signed with Grenoble INP - Phelma (Institut National Polytechnique de Grenoble – Physique, Électronique, Matériaux) to launch a dual degree program in nuclear engineering.

Grenoble INP - Phelma is one of the key engineering schools of Université Grenoble Alpes (UGA), which ranks TOP 150 in the global Shanghai Ranking. Located in the city of Grenoble, the school is part of one of the largest scientific research and industrial clusters in Europe.

Students of Satbayev University, as part of a 3+1 double degree, will be able to gain advanced knowledge from leading scientists and practitioners in the country where 70% of the energy balance is generated by 56 nuclear reactors throughout France. Diplomas from two leading technical institutes specializing in nuclear engineering open up the opportunity for Kazakhstani students to become qualified specialists at a domestic nuclear power plant.

The agreement was signed with the support of Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in France, represented by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Gulsara Mereyevna Arystankulova. This is an important step in evolving the scientific cooperation between Kazakhstan and France, which strengthens the position of Satbayev University in the international educational arena.
