Satbayev University celebrated a double anniversary

The international scientific-practical conference, presenting the award "Honorary Professor of Satbayev KazNRTU" that is granted for the contribution to Kazakhstani science and education development, laying flowers at the monument with the brass band accompaniment – due to the whole complex of measures, Satbayev University celebrated the 120th anniversary of Academician K.I. Satbayev and 85th anniversary of the university.

The participants of the events repeatedly noted Kanysh Imantayevich Satbayev’s great contribution to the development of industry and science of Kazakhstan.

“He was the great son of Kazakh steppe, a geological scientist who discovered large deposits of copper in Dzhezkazgan and manganese in Jezdy. He was the founder of Science Academy of Kazakh SSR, the first president of which he became. Exactly thanks to Kanysh Imantayevich Satbayev’s merits, the foundation of today's innovation and scientific potential of our people, our youth and our country was laid,” said Academician, Ph.D. Dosmukhamed Kshibekov.

Throughout its history, Satbayev University, named after its ideological mastermind, continues to faithfully serve the precepts of Kanysh Satbayev. The creation of Mining and Metallurgical Institute marked the beginning of higher engineering education in the republic and laid the foundation for the innovative and scientific potential that our country possesses today. Polytech has always been at the forefront of innovation, scientific and technical progress of Kazakhstan, ensuring its development and prosperity. The university received the status of the first research higher educational institution in Kazakhstan, ranked its own place among the world’s 800 largest universities in QS World University International Rating and entered the top of the best technical universities in our country.

The festive day ended with a gala concert.
