Satbayev University has been at Kazakhstan-Singapore Forum: new horizons of cooperation in science and education sphere
Satbayev University’s Rector Meiram Begentayev, First Vice-Rector for International Cooperation and Strategic Development Samgat Yermekbayev, director of Engineering laboratory, associate professor Azat Seitkhan and hydrogeologist Valentina Salybekova took part in "Kazakh-Singapore Forum: New boundaries of partnership in science and higher education sphere".
University delegation participated in the forum’s plenary session and discussion on "Sustainable water Resources management" as well as established contact with the potential partner - Singapore Management University, the university specializing in business, law and information systems. It is the university ranked 15th in the world among the specialized universities and 2nd in Asia in Master of IT in Business program based on QS rating.
In addition, Satbayev University representatives met with the leadership of the Pacific region of QS world University ranking Monica and Sergey Khristolyubov and discussed pressing issues of ranging the universities in world rankings.
The study and rational use of groundwater resources is vital for the sustainable development of Kazakhstan. Training of specialists and scientific projects in hydrogeology play a key role in the given field. Therefore, Kazakhstan and Singapore have signed a number of memoranda of understanding in science and higher education sphere, and Singapore has a number of Kazakhstani student scholarships that allow talented Kazakhstani students to study at the best universities in Singapore. "Kazakhstan-Singapore Forum: New Partnership Frontiers in Science and Higher Education" forum opens up new opportunities for cooperation in the science sphere between Kazakhstan and Singapore.
Earlier, Minister of RK Science and Higher Education, Sayassat Nurbek, in the interview with Silk Way TV channel, spoke on the department's plans to expand cooperation in the science field with Singapore, noting that special attention would be paid to training the specialists in the field of water resources and joint scientific research in this priority industry. Moreover, to signing the new agreements, an exhibition of Kazakh education and Bolashak program was held within the framework of the forum, in which Satbayev University’s delegation took an active part.
