Satbayev University hosted a strategic foresight devoted to the third mission of University

Last weekend, Satbayev University team gathered to hold a foresight session aimed at elaborating the solutions in science and education sphere and developing University's mission for the near future.

The session was attended by Deputy Chairman of Higher and Postgraduate Education Committee Nurbek Saparkhodzhayev, CEO of “KARLSKRONA” Valikhan Akhmetov, representatives of production, employers, University’s partners.

Foresight sessions are an innovative planning method that is used in a wide range of fields, such as business, politics, science and technology. The work within the given sessions is aimed at anticipating the future events or trends and planning their work in accordance with these forecasts. It is an interdisciplinary approach that combines elements of strategic planning, scenario planning, future research and other tools to help organizations and individuals make the informed decisions.

Since foresight sessions are a proactive approach to decision-making, they are very popular at Satbayev University and are applied both at the elementary and at the highest strategic level. At the session, the participants used the brainstorming mechanism to develop fresh ideas, choose the best ones and work out ways to implement them in practice.
