Satbayev University is inviting you to take part in a chess tournament dedicated to 30th anniversary of Independence Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan

Students compete with staff and teachers as well as everyone for themselves - the chess tournament will be held at Satbayev University from November 2 to November 25.

Chess is an intellectual battle created in India for scientists and military leaders. For our university, this game is not only the preservation of sports traditions but also a challenge. Who will win and receive the main cash prize: a student or a teacher?

The contests will be held based on Swiss system in 9 rounds in accordance with International Rules of the game in chess FIDE. Each player will be given 30 minutes for the whole game. The time of the party will be controlled through the clock.

The contest winners will be determined by the highest number of points scored due to participants. In case of equality of points, the winners are determined in accordance with additional indicators:

  • based on Buchholz coefficient;
  • the number of victories in black;
  • personal meeting of the winners.

In case of equality of all indicators, a game of two blitz games is held, with 1-1 score, the death game is played, where the contestant playing black is given one minute less, in case of a draw, the victory is awarded to black. The time for the party is 5 minutes each.

The competitions are spent by Satbayev University Sports Club. The chief judge of the competition is Alibek Nigmetov.
