Satbayev University joins forces with the UN to achieve global goals
The UN Permanent Coordinator in the Republic of Kazakhstan, Stephen O'Malley, visited Satbayev University to sign a cooperation memorandum in the education and research activities sphere to achieve Sustainable Development Goals.
Before the signing ceremony, representatives of the UN Regional Office met with University's Rector Meiram Begentayev, and First Vice-Rector for International Cooperation and Strategic Development, Samgat Yermekbayev. The parties discussed the prospects for joint work and those projects that are already underway at the university.
Mr. O'Malley noted that Satbayev University's achievements in the field of sustainable development are impressive:
"Satbayev University is one of the exemplary universities in terms of supporting the sustainable development program," he said. - University has implemented the principles of sustainable development in all aspects of its work. And we consider the fact that you have created a SDG project office to be an excellent starting point.
The signed memorandum will expand cooperation between Satbayev University and the UN Regional Office in Kazakhstan. The parties will conduct scientific projects, hold conferences, lectures and presentations on sustainable development in various fields and human development. Special attention will be paid to attracting young scientists to research activities. In addition, the memorandum provides for the internship program for students at UN agencies.
All this will allow Satbayev University to strengthen its scientific potential and become an example of successful cooperation between universities and international organizations.
