Satbayev University Metallurgy and Enrichment Institute’s employee received a grant for implementing the environmental project
"Development of technology for complex extraction of cobalt and nickel from oxidized cobalt-nickel ore" research project, which allows to organize waste-free mining of ores, received a support from the state.
On December 8, Kazakhstan President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in a dignified manner awarded a grant in the amount of 3 million tenge to the junior scientific assistant of Satbayev University "Metallurgy and Refining Institute" Kenzhegali Smailov in Akorda residence. His project was one of 30 that won in "Tauelsizdik urpaktary" contest.
In his speech, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev congratulated young scientists on 30th anniversary of Independence, and noted that Independence generation is one of new Kazakhstan’s bright symbols.
"Tauelsizdik urpaktary" grant program is aimed at supporting the new ideas and initiatives in science, culture, information technology, business and media sphere. Head of State underlined that most of the winning projects are dedicated to the use of high-tech technologies to preserve ecology and environment.

At the end of the meeting, President expressed confidence that creative, inventive and patriotic youth will become the gold for the country’s prosperity.
