Satbayev University Military Institute showed the capabilities of "Geotactic" complex
On December 14, Military Institute hosted a presentation of "Geotactic" military software package for school pupils and students, timed to Independence Day. 1000 students of 10th grade of secondary schools in Almaty’s Bostandyk district got acquainted with Satbayev University Military department and took part in watching the presentation film devoted to “Geotactic” program possibilities.
Geotactic is a software package for creating and conducting the war games on a virtual "terrain". There are several variants of the program - for gunners, for infantrymen, in order to gain skills in working with typographic plans and maps or conduct tactical training. The program allows you to work out the skills of using optical instruments, conducting topo-geodetic binding, artillery reconnaissance and control of artillery fire correction.
Conducting the games with augmented reality continues to be a novelty in IT industry world, and “Geotactic” invariably arouses the interest of military departments and students. The program allows you not only to work out skills while sitting in the office, but also to organize a game on the ground owing to the mobile Internet. The program tracks game events, gives players a task, evaluates their actions. Different libraries for the program allow you to simulate almost the entire complex of combat situations.
