Satbayev University opened Madelkhan Darishev Auditorium
On October 21, on the eve of the Republic Day, the grand opening of the auditorium and the memorial plaque of Madelkhan Darishev, mining engineer, Candidate of Economic Sciences, associate professor, Patriotic War veteran, who stood at the beginning of the direction of industrial economics at Polytech, took place. Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, academician of NAS RK Bayan Rakishev and Rector of Satbayev University Meiram Begentayev opened the audience.
Candidate of Chemical Sciences Akgul Darisheva and Candidate of Economic Sciences Magida Chermanova, daughter and niece of Madelkhan Darishev, who followed his example, delivered a welcoming speech at the event. They shared their memories of their honored relative.
Madelkhan Darishev is a mining engineer, a graduate of Kazakh Mining and Metallurgical Institute in 1942, the founder and the first head of "Economics of Metallurgical Industry" department at his native institute. Immediately after graduation, Madelkhan Darishev went to the front. He was sent to Leningrad Air Force Academy; he fought in Poland and Romania and retired in 1946 with the qualification of an Air Force mechanical engineer. In 1947, at the invitation of Kanysh Satbayev, he moved to Alma-Ata and began to investigate the issues related to metallurgical industry organization.
After defending his dissertation, Madelkhan Darishev worked at the Institute of Economics Institute at Kazakh SSR Academy of Sciences, consistently building his scientific career and solving complex problems of the metallurgical industry as one of Kazakhstan's leading specialists in metallurgical industry economics. One of his achievements was the economic justification for advancing the Karaganda Metallurgical Combine; another was his active participation in the commission on the development of prospects for Kazakhstan’s ferrous metallurgy in the Union’s State Plan.
In 1967, Madelkhan Darishev returned to Polytech to teach. He opened "Economics of Metallurgical Industry" department, compiled a lecture course and began training the specialists and managers unique for those times in metallurgy sphere. Madelkhan Darishev created more than 50 scientific works, led an active social life. For his contribution to the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, he was awarded numerous medals, and his role in creating and developing the economic research of ferrous metallurgy and industrial economics was rewarded with awards and diplomas.
