Satbayev University remembers its founders
In the year of 30th anniversary of RK independence, let's recall the first Kazakh professor in mathematics, whose 130th jubilee is celebrated this year.
Yermekov Alimkhan Abeuovich was among the people who laid the foundation of the Kazakh statehood. At the age of 29, the youngest member of Alash demonstrated his ability to convince opponents at the meeting chaired by V.I. Lenin in Moscow. In the course of a heated discussion related to the republic’s borders, he managed to achieve the return to Kazakhstan of a number of very important territories, including the Caspian coast, Akmola and Semipalatinsk regions.
Alimkhan Abeuovich worked at our university, he was General Technical Faculty’s Dean (1935-37). He contributed to the university’s subsidiary structure development as well. Alimkhan Yermekov's nephew Mukhsin Amirkhanovich was the first director at Metallurgy and Enrichment Institute.
