Satbayev University scientist presented her project in the field of innovative corrosion protection of pipelines
Our country is one of the largest exporters of energy raw materials and an active participant in international oil and gas associations. As part of the sustainable development strategy, our country is actively developing internal projects aimed at improving the reliability and efficiency of main pipelines.
To solve the given problem, Satbayev University, together with private partner Ecotech Engineering, developed an insulating coating. This was stated at "Production of radiation-modified heat-shrinkable materials in the Republic of Kazakhstan" seminar by Director of Insultech company, associate professor of Petroleum Engineering Department Aigul Bakesheva.
Radiation modification is a unique technology that significantly improves the properties of polymer materials. Other products based on the same technology have gained recognition in various industries due to properties such as high temperature resistance, strength, chemical resistance and reliable corrosion protection. They are used in the oil and gas, chemical industry, construction and public utilities.
"The heat shrinkable cuff is a key element of our products designed for anti-corrosion protection of welds of main pipelines," said Aigul Bakesheva.
The innovative heat-shrinkable cuffs developed at Satbayev University open up new prospects for industrial modernization. They reduce operating costs, extend the service life of pipelines and contribute to improving the environmental and economic safety.
The oil and gas industry is one of the leading sectors of the country's economy, and the localization of the production of anticorrosive materials allows not only to reduce dependence on imports, but also to increase the competitiveness of domestic companies in the global market. This is a step not only towards technological independence, but also towards sustainable economic development based on knowledge, innovation and advanced scientific achievements.
