Satbayev University strengthens international cooperation in eco-mining and natural resource management under the Erasmus+ EMINReM project
Representatives from Satbayev University participated in the international conference and the third meeting of Erasmus+ EMINReM project coordinators: "Master Programme in Eco-Mining and Innovative Natural Resources Management", which was held at Dumlupinar University in Turkey. Since 2023, Satbayev University has been participating in this international project aimed at training graduate students specializing in mining and mineral processing, modern methods of processing, and optimizing industrial processes to reduce environmental impact.
The conference brought together Erasmus+ EMINReM project coordinators from across Europe, Ukraine, Central Asia. Two delegations arrived from Kazakhstan: representatives from Satbayev University and Karaganda Technical University named after A. Saginov.
The participants presented new master's programs in environmentally safe mining and the rational use of natural resources, developed and included in the working curricula for the "Mining" field in 2024. After the presentations, participants discussed the organization of training and the development of a modern learning environment using a virtual e-learning platform, as well as the mechanism for conducting pilot trainings for graduate students and advanced EMINReM experts.
The coordinators discussed the results of the project and decided to strengthen control and monitoring of the project's progress, actively disseminate its results, eliminate shortcomings, and resolve any outstanding issues with the involvement of the National Erasmus+ offices in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.
The conference participants developed a step-by-step plan for further work and its integration into the educational processes of various universities participating in the project.
