Satbayev University team has congratulated Professor of "Geology of Oil and Gas" Department Zholtayev Geroy Zholtayevich on his birthday, has wished him health and long life.
Geroy Zholtayev is an honored teacher and scientist, public figure, Doctor of Geological and mineralogical sciences, Academician at International Academy of Engineering, International Academy of Mineral Resources and National Academy of Engineering, winner of RK Al-Farabi State Prize in science and technology sphere, "Honorary prospector of subsoil of the Republic of Kazakhstan".
Satbayev University’s graduate (at that time V. I. Lenin Kazakh Polytechnic Institute), Geroy Zholtayev worked at his native university for almost 60 years, holding a number of responsible positions, including the position of Vice-rector for Research and International Relations.
He made a great personal contribution to higher education’s growth in Kazakhstan. On his initiative, new specialties were opened for design and operation of oil-gas pipelines, for machines and equipment of oil-gas fields, and significantly raised the level of methodological support for educational process, as well as organized training of highly qualified personnel at the faculty.
Professor Zholtayev's great contribution to republican science development is creating a scientific school of young geologists working effectively in the CIS republics, Cuba, Algeria, Tunisia, Angola, Mauritania, Vietnam, Laos, Colombia, India, Morocco, Ethiopia, Yemen, Palestine, Israel and other countries of the world. His doctoral and postgraduate students conduct joint research not only at universities in Russia, but also in France, Japan, Germany and the USA.
Geroy Zholtayev is the author of more than 210 scientific papers, 4 monographs, 30 methodological guidelines, 5 textbooks on "Geology of oil and gas regions of Kazakhstan" course. The outstanding achievements of Geroy Zholtayev were marked by numerous industry, state awards and honorary titles, including “Kurmet” and «Yeren enbegi ushin” Medals.
