Satbayev University will become one of the first strategic partners of Canadian higher education system
A joint delegation of Canadian universities and Ulytau Educational Foundation visited Satbayev University to discuss possible cooperation in education and science. The meeting was held as part of the visit of Canadian universities’s heads to Kazakhstan to discuss the possibility of establishing The Ulytau Technical University in Zhezkazgan.
Representatives of Thompson Rivers University, University of New Brunswick, Ontario Tech University, Kwantlen Polytechnic University and Ulytau Educational Foundation met with University’s Rector Meiram Begentayev, to discuss the given project.
Representatives of Canadian universities expressed interest in scientific cooperation in such areas as automation, clean energy, mining, economics, project management and others. Among the agreements reached there are joint scientific publications and projects, double-degree education and academic exchange, the program of which will begin the next academic year.
- Satbayev University will be the first university to act as a permanent partner of Canada's leading universities. We will act not only as an organization providing a base for a new university, but we will also be able to give our students more opportunities, provide them with the individual approach taking into account the specifics of the region," Samgat Yermekbayev said.
For university scientists, the given agreements mean the acquisition of new expertise in applied sciences, and for students seeking an international diploma, the opportunity to receive Canadian education without leaving Kazakhstan.
During the meeting, representatives of both sides expressed confidence that joint projects will open up other new horizons for students and scientists from Kazakhstan and Canada, contributing to the exchange of knowledge and experience in the rapidly changing world.
