Satbayev University will renew the training of engineers for Kazakhstan’s space industry
Students and scientists of Space Engineering and Technology Department that is being reopened at Satbayev University will be engaged in finalizing the nanosatellite for space shooting of the Earth. This was agreed by University authority and JSC "National Center for Space Research and Technology".
Marat Nurgozhin, JSC “NSCRT” Management Board Chairman believes that one of the areas that requires special attention is to increase the competence of future specialists for the space industry.
- We have reached an agreement on the opening of a basic department at Satbayev University as well as the organization of a training center for specialists in remote sensing technologies for Central Asia and joint participation in 6th Program of International Space Station with scientific research, - said Marat Nurgozhin.
The prospects of cooperation in the field of state “Industry 4.0” programs and Digital Kazakhstan, as well as the development of innovative projects were discussed at the meeting. In particular, they discussed the prospects of joint participation in UN - SPIDER international project, UN program related to the use of space technologies for preventing and eliminating the emergency situations.
- We have a new opportunity to resume the work on two projects, including 12 from Kazakhstan at International Space Station. We will have to work on the payload of nanosatellite and update the software, which will significantly increase the chances of our project's success, says Yerlan Tashtai, Head of “Electronics, Telecommunications and Space Technologies” department at Satbayev University.
Memorandum of Cooperation between Satbayev University and JSC “National Center for Space Research and Technologies” also provides for joint participation in the programs of Eurasian Technology Platform "Space and Geo information Technologies - products of global competitiveness". Its goal is to unite the efforts of representatives of EAEU member states, business, science, and public organizations to create a unified communication environment to develop and implement the innovative space and geo information technologies with the priority of using national data sources for remote sensing of Earth.
