Satbayev University’s scientists took part in the large-scale training on actions in case of earthquakes

There was held "Zher-2023" large-scale training on actions in case of earthquakes at SU. Representatives of Turkic countries and Kazakhstani specialists, including employees of Satbayev University UAV laboratory under the leadership of its head Alexey Oksiyenko attended the given event.

Scientists showed their developments by exhibiting 7 unmanned aerial vehicles designed and manufactured in University laboratory. These are tiltrotor aircraft, multirotor vehicles and aircraft-type vehicles designed for patrolling and assessing the damage in emergency situations, searching for the wounded, delivering medicines, lighting at night, alerts and so on.

University scientists held meetings with representatives of regional emergency situations and guests of the republic, told about the capabilities of UAVs, and also met with Minister of Emergency Situations of Kazakhstan Syrym Sharipkhanov.

The main purpose of the past exercises is to prepare and educate the population, instill a general safety culture, as well as increase the level of readiness of civil protection forces to act in case of earthquakes. During the seismic trainings, residents learn the rules of behavior during destructive earthquakes and practice searching for safe places, collecting at reception points of the affected population and other actions.

 "Zher-2023" training lasted for two days. The warning system was checked and the Kazakh republican civil protection services and emergency rescue services of emergency departments at Organization of Turkic states countries were trained: Azerbaijan, Hungary, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, Uzbekistan.
