Satbayev University’s young scientists took part in the meeting with the country’s President
On November 16, Almaty hosted a meeting of State Head with students and young scientists, which was attended by Satbayev University’s representatives. Young innovators presented their scientific projects, told about their work as well as achievements. From the part of Satbayev University, Aidos Joydassov held a speech at the meeting, who dedicated his presentation to bauxite processing.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said that he listened to all the speeches with great interest, and added that all the proposed unique scientific developments and technological startups are of great importance for the country. President noted that Almaty is one of the leading centers of science and education and stressed the significance of active work in science sphere for the country’s growth.
– The well-known geologist Kanysh Satbayev founded Academy of Sciences in this city. Many of our scientists who worked at Academy made a huge contribution to Kazakh science development. Older generation’s achievements should find their worthy continuation, President underlined.
Head of State noted that services based on digitalization and other advanced technologies have become one of the strongest global trends today. Kazakhstan should not stay away from this process, and the most important advantage of the country should be enthusiastic youth, a new generation of engineers.
In this regard, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev focused on advancement of high quality and affordable education. It is necessary to not only improve education quality and introduce international best practices, but also to pay corresponding attention to the conditions of study and residence of students. The country's leader underlined that the most effective approach is introducing an open model of science and such a tool as endowment funds. The process leader will be Satbayev University, whose research infrastructure will be available to all technical educational institutions.
- We have entered the era when human capital is more important than natural resources, said Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. “Our country’s most important wealth is people. Therefore, the state’s principal task is to create all necessary conditions for their self-realization,” he said.
