Students of Satbayev University presented their architectural diploma projects on topical issues of urban environment development in Almaty

On October 5, 2021, the exhibition hall of the Department of Urban Planning and Urban Studies of Almaty, with the support of the Research Institute "Almatygenplan", hosted the opening of an exhibition of the best diploma projects of graduates of the Satbayev University School of Architecture in 2021 (K.I. Satpayev Kazakh National Research Technical University).

All works are devoted to topics relevant to the city of Almaty. The exhibition demonstrates the creative aspirations of young architects who have been concerned about the arrangement of their hometown since their student years, and who direct all their talent, knowledge and skills to create a comfortable and aesthetic modern urban environment.

The opening was attended by the rector of Satbayev University Meiram Begentayev, the head of the Department of Urban Planning and Urbanism of Almaty Almaskhan Akhmedzhanov and the director of the Research Institute "Almatygenplan" Shakhmurat Syzdyk.

Those present got acquainted with the presented exposition with great interest and took an active part in the discussion on each project.

Several works were singled out separately. This is a project of renovation of the urban environment in the area of the former Sayakhat bus station (carried out by students, undergraduates and doctoral students of the Department of Architecture under the guidance of Professor Alexey Abilov and Vladimir Yaskevich); A project of reconstruction of the Almaty Zoo (diploma student Aidana Agibai, head Larisa Sidorenko); A project of landscape organization of the spaces of Satpayev University (diploma student Eleanor Kist, head Veronika Musabayeva).

The issues of further closer cooperation of the academic environment of the university with the administration and the public of our native Almaty were also touched upon.

This event will not only present the ideas of young architects to the general public, but will also help attract the attention of professionals and become a launching pad for our graduates.

The exhibition will be open for a long time.
