The first performance of "Theater. Polytech" troupe was triumphantly held at Satbayev University

ArtLab laboratory for popularization of science and technology, created this year, and Polytech Theater, organized within its walls, presented their first result, “Mechanism” play.

Based on Director of the art laboratory and the author of the play, Anel Syzdykova-Bitossi, the performance vividly and brightly reveals the spirit of the philosophy of metamodern and the ideas of techno-harmony (that is, such a social system in which harmony in society is possible).

The performance broadcasts to the viewer the idea of updating the views on scientific and technological progress. This puts Satbayev University in the vanguard position of the global trend of new technological ethics.

The story to which the play is dedicated unfolds within our university walls, as well as in the fictional world of collective sleep, where a group of students gets into due to the incorrect operation of a mechanism turned on without permission, found at the bottom of the sea and restored by a university professor.

Once in the dream, the guys understand a lot about themselves and about life. The substantial part of the dream is based on the legend of Minotaur and, using the example of the tragically disappeared civilization of the island of Crete, tells about the problems of modern global technocracy and warns about the importance of careful attention to technology.

The action on the stage is filled with incredible acting, deep meanings, original costumes, beautiful musical and choreographic episodes. Judging by the reviews, the result of ArtLab's work exceeded all expectations, even though this is the first trial and far from the final version.
