The First seminar of the Office of the Registrar in KazNRTU

The first seminar in Almaty of the Registrar's Office took place in the Kazakh National Research Technical University named after K.I. Satpayev on September 28-29, 2017. KazNRTU organized it together with Nazarbayev University.

The seminar was devoted to the improvement of the quality of the provided service, optimization and automation of the business processes of the Registrar's Office. One of the objectives of the seminar was to create a platform for communication and exchange of experience of Office’s employees that had to solve the tasks facing them alone before it.

President of the Nazarbayev University Shigeo Katsu, Registrar Rebekka Carter and Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of KazNRTU Rinat Iskakov speak in the opening of the seminar.

– The development and improvement of the Registrar's Office is a priority in the work of any university, because its work directly affects the educational and all academic processes. KazNRTU named after K.I. Satpayev provides all possible resources and support for the development of this department, so that its work will meet the standards of the 21st century.

The task of the modern Registrar Office is to create a platform for social networking of the whole university. This requires new approaches and modern methods of processing information and creating a cloud of data that can help teachers and students in all matters that arise in the learning process, – said Rinat Iskakov in his welcoming speech.

There was 150 participants from 5 regions of Kazakhstan and 40 universities, including the pro-rector of universities in the seminar. The format of the seminar included general panel sessions with participation of the leadership of KazNRTU and Nazarbayev University, presentation sessions and subsequent discussion.

The new student information system Banner Ellucian and new concepts of the Registrar's office was presented in the semnar. Participants exchanged experiences and discussed current issues and new methods of work with colleagues.
