The second "Current trends in higher education and science" forum of Kazakhstan and Russia’s universities’ Rectors took place
From March 28 to 29, 2024, the second forum of Kazakhstan and Russia’s universities’ Rectors started in Almaty, the main topic of which was "Current trends in higher education and science". The forum, which took place on the basis of Satbayev University and al-Farabi Kazakh National University, brought together leading specialists and heads of higher education from both countries, who worked out the program for evolving the cooperation between the two countries at the highest level.
On the first day, Satbayev University hosted 4th meeting of Subcommittee on Cooperation in Education and Science of Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Collaboration between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation. Vice Minister of RK Science and Higher Education Talgat Yeshenkulov and Deputy Minister of RF Science and Higher Education Konstantin Mogilevsky chaired the meeting. The participants noted that the work was being carried out actively and successfully on the basis of trust between the two long-standing partners.
In the afternoon, the Russian delegation visited NarXoz, KBTU and other universities in Almaty to get acquainted with the educational opportunities of the Southern capital.
On the second day of the forum a panel discussion on "Digitalization of higher education: trends and implementation strategies" topic was held at the university, moderated by Raissa Uskenbayeva, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of Satbayev University. Other panel discussions of the forum devoted to the training of teachers, prospects for cooperation and new trends in education and science were held at several universities in Almaty, including Al- Farabi Kazakh National University and Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University.
Forum of University Rectors is an important event contributing to the development of scientific and educational cooperation between Kazakhstan and Russia, which will help all its participants to commence new initiatives and projects aimed at improving the quality of education and research in both countries.
