The second republican festival of Mythical Game Jam SU game developers 2022 has started at Satbayev University
Mythical Game Jam is an exciting contest of programmers, 3D and 2D artists, designers, game designers, screenwriters, musicians and many other young professionals from the field of video games elaborating the country’s digital market. This year it has been held for the second time in support of "Zhana Kazakhstan" development program. Organizer of "Mythical Game Jam SU 2022" was Automation and Information Technology Institute, together with TheHUB independent youth community.
This year, the teams is developing the game on "Mythology" topic. Participants will be able to freely interpret the theme and use of mythologies related to any culture, up to the modern one. The theme is devoted to Year of Children in Kazakhstan. Special attention will be paid to projects on Turkic and Kazakh mythologies.
The festival was opened with the speech of Minister of RK Science and Higher Education Sayassat Nurbek, who welcomed the game developers and wished the realization of all creative ideas.
— The game development sphere is quite new for our country. On behalf of Science and Education Ministry of our country, I’d like to express my gratitude Mythical Game Jam SU 2022 organizers for the initiative in holding the given event," Minister said.
In addition to Sayassat Nurbek, Vice Minister for digital development, innovation and aerospace Industry at Republic of Kazakhstan Askar Zhambakin as well as General Director of International techno park of Astana Hub IT startups Magzhan Madiyev took part in the opening.
After that, the conference began with invited speakers from the gaming industry and related fields. The conference is held in an open form in a hybrid format and is available to everyone. Training workshops are held for all teams, where you can ask questions and improve your professional level.
The competition is starting tomorrow: within 48 hours, the festival participants elaborate their games, and the jury selects the best project. We invite you to attend the presentation of projects at the festival closing on December 10 and plunge into the atmosphere of myths, fairy tales, epics and tales of our ancestors and the world culture in general.
