Unique opportunity: Satbayev University students can enroll in PennState this year
Satbayev University students have the opportunity to study at Pennsylvania State University (PennState, USA) - to get to study this year, it is necessary to submit the documents by March 1.
To explain the conditions for admission to the special double degree program this year, the university was visited by Samgat Yermekbayev, a graduate of Penn State University in “Bolashak” program, who met with students, talked about the program and answered all questions.
Program, developed by Satbayev University and PennState, involves admission of Satbayev University students to PennState and training in "3+1+1" format. For the first three years, students study at Satbayev University according to the usual Bachelor's degree program. In the 4th year, students go to study at Penn State, after graduation, students receive a diploma from Satbayev University. If they successfully complete the program, they will have the opportunity to continue their education and receive Master's degree from Penn State University in America during the next year.
4 degree programs of Satbayev University were selected as a pilot project - geology, materials science, oil and gas engineering and cybersecurity. 3rd year students studying in these fields can apply to start studying at the largest and one of the most prestigious universities in America as early as August this year.
The admission procedure for the program will include submission of documents and an interview with Admissions Committee. Tuition is at the expense of PennState, and students will have to pay for flights and accommodation themselves. The second year of study at PennState under Master's degree program for the best students will be paid for under “Bolashak” program. The student will also have the opportunity to apply for an American scholarship.
Given the short deadline for submitting the documents, the mandatory IELTS test has been canceled for Satbayev University students entering Penn State this year. The entrant's English level will be checked by Admissions Committee of American university during the interview.
Satbayev University and Pennsylvania State University signed a cooperation agreement in early February this year, opening wide career prospects for Kazakhstani students. Pennsylvania State University is one of the top 15 public universities in the United States, with almost 90,000 students enrolled, making it one of the largest in the United States and the world.
