U.S. Consul General in Almaty Michelle Yerkin paid a working visit to Satbayev University
Satbayev University continues to work on expanding the collaboration with universities in the USA. As part of this process, University administration received a delegation from the U.S. Consulate General in Almaty, headed by Consul General Michelle Yerkin. American delegation also included Public Relations Officer Nick Novak, Assistant Public Relations Officer Chad Kinnear and Cultural Affairs Assistant Zhanna Toktarova. In her welcoming speech, Michelle Yerkin noted that she was glad to start cooperation and was ready to provide all possible assistance.
The dialogue focused on discussing the prospects of cooperation between Satbayev University and universities in the USA. University’s Rector Meiram Begentayev stressed that Sustainable Development Goals are at the center of our university's vision, which allows the university to develop sustainably and systematically and open the way for all universities and schools in Kazakhstan to sustainable development.
The parties exchanged their vision of future collaboration in the context of long-term ties between Kazakhstan and America in education sphere. Zhanna Toktarova noted that the community of people who studied in the USA in Kazakhstan exceeds twenty thousand people, which strengthens ties between the two countries and helps to negotiate with each other.
The meeting took place on the eve of the trip of University’s Rector to Pennsylvania State University (Pennsylvania State University, USA), known for its oil and gas specialties.
It is worth noting that Satbayev University actively cooperates with universities in the USA, such as Colorado School of Mines, Michigan State University, Ohio State University, in the areas of oil and gas, mining and engineering.
