Week of Good deeds at Satbayev University
The last week of October was marked by a charity event that was organized in Satbayev University by the Institute of Basic Education in collaboration with student organizations.
Week of Good Deeds is the student’s initiative. The first event of the Week, the charity concert, took place on October 29. The program of the concert included performances of students, the center of student creativity and The Fake vocal group. A donation box was at the entrance.
The students did their best. Their goal was to help Nazerka Nurseitova, the daughter of a Satbayev University employee. She became ill with Ewing's sarcoma, one of the fastest growing types of bone cancer.
The traditional Charity Festival – Sweet Fair came the next day. The occasion was the Halloween like last year. Halloween is an unusual, mysterious, colorful atmosphere. It attracts the eye and causes burning curiosity. No one could pass the hall. The attractive aroma of baking makes heads spin, eyes run up from all kinds of cakes and pies, cookies and muffins, buns and desserts - everything was fresh and homemade!
The holiday program was truly impressive: a pumpkin competition, performances of children with a ukulele, a guitar, a violin, singing acapella, dances, quizzes, flashmobs ... Those who wanted could make themselves make-up or mehendi. The students bought sweets, painted their faces, made fearful masks, performed with songs and wrote words to give Nazerke their support.
The proceeds from the Week of Good deeds will go to Botti's treatment, and all of us at Satbayev University hope for her speedy recovery. Support the initiative and come to the Challenge day, which will be on November 1. Together we win!
