Whatever you do, you work in IT: Satbayev University met with Timur Turlov
On May 23, Timur Turlov, a well-known entrepreneur and financier, Chief Executive Officer of Freedom Holding Corp., spoke at Satbayev University at SUTalks, who shared with students and teachers his vision of entrepreneurship in Kazakhstan and answered the questions.
The event attracted the attention of not only students interested in startups and entrepreneurship, but also teachers and entrepreneurs, and benefited everyone who is interested in personal success and wealth. The entrepreneur shared his experience and personal thoughts on how to achieve success in the modern world. Timur Ruslanovich considers the education, deep knowledge and professionalism to be the main factor of success.
- I am absolutely convinced that in the next thirty years the wealth of any country will be determined solely by the intellectual potential of its citizens, - Timur Ruslanovich said in his speech. - If we can give our children and grandchildren a good education, we will definitely be much richer.
Timur Turlov stressed that in the modern world computer literacy is one of the key skills of success, as automation and digitalization permeates all areas of human activity. Anyone who can adapt and master the complexity of modern technologies, learn how to use them and introduce them to places where they have not been used yet - will be able to earn well, no matter what they do.
However, success secret is not limited to IT knowledge:
- In fact, people now most need narrow specialists in completely different industries from linguistics to rocket science, - says Turlov, - who, at the same time, know IT. Because there are actually a lot of people who can program. But developers who deeply understand your business, are good at programming, and at the same time understand, for example, rockets, are much less common. Bankers who understand IT are more valuable than just programmers.
At the end of the meeting, the students wondered how a startup could get financing and what future investors should pay attention to. In line with Turlov, the right lifestyle, responsibility and deep knowledge are much more important for business than investments. If an entrepreneur knows how to create value for people and has a strong team, they will be able to achieve success in any conditions.
