100 new textbooks in the Kazakh language in the framework of the program “Ruhani Zhangiru”
The fund of the Scientific Library of Satbayev University is constantly updated with modern educational and scientific literature in three languages. An important part of it is the works of foreign authors that have already become classic.
In the spring of 2018, the Scientific Library of Satbayev University received as a gift the first 17 of 18 books prepared under the project “New Humanitarian Knowledge. 100 new textbooks in the Kazakh language.
This project initiated on the instructions of the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev within the framework of the program “Ruhani Zhangiru” solves the problem of providing the country with modern knowledge.
The presentation of the first 18 textbooks on philosophy, sociology, psychology, economics, management, entrepreneurship, religious studies, linguistics, innovations and media (16 of them were translated from English, 1 from French, and 1 from Russian) took place on April 12, 2018 with the participation of the Head of State who noted that the project "100 new textbooks" opens up the opportunity to get acquainted with the best international experience and achievements of world-class universities. From September 2018, university students will use them in the educative process. Nowadays the translations of the best foreign publications on economics and entrepreneurship already allow universities to develop MBA programs in the Kazakh language.
The program of translation of the best foreign literature also provides for the revision of outdated concepts and knowledge in the humanitarian and social sciences from the point of view of modernity and future.
The translation of publications is carried out by teachers of universities of Kazakhstan; well-known linguists and also experts in other fields of knowledge are involved in the examination and evaluation of the quality of translations.
Electronic versions of textbooks and the series of video-lectures prepared on their basis will be posted on the website of the National Translation Agency and the platform of the Kazakhstan Open University (OpenU.kz).
