A seminar was held on cooperation between vocational education and universities
On June 14, the regional "Opportunities for cooperation between vocational education and higher education" seminar was held at Kaskelen vocational technical college named after Sanjar Zhandossov, organized by the educational and methodological center for education development in Almaty region.
Teachers of Satbayev University «Energy» department, social partners, and engineers-teachers of technical and vocational education organizations attended the given seminar.
Head of Technical and vocational education department of the regional educational and methodological center for education development, Shynar Issakhanova opened the seminar, she spoke about the possibilities of cooperation between the college and the university.
Within the framework of the seminar, a branch of Satbayev University "Energy" department was opened at the college, Vice-rector for Academic Affairs of University Bakhyt Zhautikov defined the goals and objectives of collaboration, and the department’s scientists told about its capabilities.
Satbayev University Energy and Mechanical Engineering Institute’s director Kassym Yelemessov made a report on "Mutual cooperation of universities and colleges – the state and prospects", and Darkhan Bitimshinov, director of Elcos, spoke on the introduction of dual training in the company.
Then the seminar participants moved on to study the program in "Energy" specialty elaborated for Sanjar Zhandossov College in cooperation with Satbayev University. Those present were acquainted with the advantages of the working curriculum in the specialty and took part in master classes of teachers of special disciplines and college’s masters of industrial training on the following topics:
- "Application of an interactive learning system for assembling the electrical circuits in laboratory and practical classes",
- "Control of the electric motor with provision of its direct start and reverse",
- "Determination of the coordinates of an electric drive with a DC motor of parallel excitation in generator, motor and braking modes".
At the end of the seminar, the participants gathered on a free microphone, during which the teachers shared their opinions and impressions. Following the results of the seminar, recommendations were made to improve the further work.
