Lenovo and Satbayev University partnership has opened up new horizons for innovation and student entrepreneurship
Today, in the year of 90th anniversary, Lenovo Auditorium was opened at Satbayev University, a high-tech innovation space created to train specialists in the field of digital economy, develop the university's scientific potential and promote innovation and entrepreneurship.
The new audience, as part of FabLabMIT ecosystem created this year at Satbayev University, will provide access to micro-qualifications in digital design and work on numerically controlled machines. Students will study modeling and engineering graphics, design prototypes of their ideas and implement them on the basis of FabLab workshop. In addition, the auditorium will provide a space for learning and research in the field of cybersecurity and data management, artificial intelligence and digital modeling.
It is equipped with unique high-performance workstations created by engineers for engineers, such as Lenovo ThinkStation P3 and Lenovo ThinkStation P620, the world's first workstation equipped with 64-core processors. The given architecture enables to run multiple processes on a computer at the same time, especially useful for professionals working with 3D modeling, rendering, processing large amounts of data and simulations. They will allow students to perform complex calculations, model industrial designs, and explore the vast expanses of IT and artificial intelligence.
Gaziz Abdrassilov, a university graduate and Director of Corporate Sales for Lenovo Intelligent Device Group in Eastern Europe and Central Asia, noted that the creation of such a space is Lenovo's first experience in supporting local education:
"I am very glad that we have become a part of such a large movement as FabLab, and that our students have the opportunity to create and implement their ideas," he said in his congratulatory speech.
Lenovo is one of the largest technology companies in the world, which invests a lot in R&D, focusing on artificial intelligence. The scientific potential of Lenovo's classroom at Satbayev University is aimed at implementing the research projects in areas such as artificial intelligence, reverse engineering, cybersecurity, and engineering simulations.
The given initiative allows university students and scientists to perform complex analyses and develop innovative solutions for industrial partners, strengthening their contribution to high-tech industries evolvement.
