On October 13, as part of celebrating World Standards Day, KazStandard Academy at Satbayev University and Almaty branch of “KazStandard” enterprise held Round table on "Common vision of the better world. Standards in support of UN Sustainable Development Goals" topic.

Round table brought together the representatives of higher educational institutions and domestic manufacturers in standardization sphere, including Satbayev University, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, ATU, KazNARU and IETU.

Round table’s moderator was the head of RSE "KazStandard" subsidiary in Almaty and Almaty region, Zainulla Manenov, who made an introductory speech. Vice-Rector for Science and Corporate Development of Satbayev University, Yerzhan Itemenovich Kuldeyev opened the Round table and made an introductory speech. The first report in the discussion was the report of Kanat Kabylbekov, the head of Department of Committee for Technical Regulation and Metrology of RK MTI in Almaty, which was devoted to this year's Standards Day motto – “Common vision of the better world.”

At Round table, the participants discussed key aspects of modern standardization, including national and international standards, as well as stable and continuous improvement of competence in certification and standardization sphere. They also focused on the search for new approaches both in standardization system and in the quality assurance system of technical education.

The speakers provided information on National Standardization System and its role in solving the modern challenges, and also spoke about advisory assistance to enterprises in metrology and standardization issues.

Round table became a platform for exchanging the experience and information about other services provided by KazStandard, such as training and advanced training of specialists in technical regulation and standardization sphere.

Round table participants discussed many issues and initiatives aimed at improving the system of standardization and education in the region and in the world, emphasizing the importance of cooperation between universities and standardization service, contributing to improving the level of professional training in technical fields. This promises to bear fruit in the future and promote science and technology advancement.
