Satbayev University summed up the results of the jubilee year and outlined ambitious plans

Satbayev University’s Rector Meiram Begentayev summed up the results of 2024.  University celebrated 90^th anniversary of the higher educational institution and 125^th jubilee of the birth of Academician Kanysh Satbayev by holding the large-scale events. University’s Head thanked the staff for their achievements and highlighted key areas of development, including digital transformation, international cooperation and scientific research.

In 2024, Satbayev University confirmed its status as a leading university in Kazakhstan, participating in forming the knowledge economy and creating a platform for evolving the Central Asian Academic Hub. Partnerships with global leaders in higher education such as CityU, University of Glasgow, PennState, and Sungkyunkwan University open up new horizons for international cooperation in the field of science and training specialists who are ready not only to master, but also elaborate innovative technologies.

Participation of students and teachers in global sustainable development projects has become one of University's priorities. As part of Future 17 consortium, Satbayev University students have been working on international initiatives aimed at improving the environmental and social sustainability since their early years of study.

Rector noted the importance of the digital transformation of the university. Polytech Online platform, dual education and modern approaches of teachers provide students with access to high-quality education. Scientists have made a significant contribution to University’s growth, successfully attracting the funding through research projects, business contracts and start-ups.

University has expanded its scientific infrastructure as well. This year, Engineering Center at MMC, Stroytech Technology Park and MIT FabLab were opened. The foundation stone of the new academic buildings and dormitories for 955 places has been laid.

One of Satbayev University’s major goals is to become one of the top 200 universities in the world. This will require the coordinated work of the university staff and its partners.

The event ended with the ceremony dedicated to Academician Geroy Zholtayev, doctor of geological and mineralogical sciences and the winner of State Prize. In his speech, Geroy Zholtayevich noted that University is currently on the international stage, and the unification of science and production opens up prospects for new achievements, as bequeathed by Kanysh Satbayev.

Satbayev University has completed its anniversary year with ambitious goals, inspiring the students, teachers and scientists to continue moving forward, contributing to the development of science and education in Kazakhstan.
