The graduate presented the study laboratory to Satbayev University
Digital technologies increase the safety of pitmen and miners. Virtual reality laboratory has been opened at Satbayev University Mining and Metallurgical Institute named after O. A. Baikonurov, which teaches students to set up and use ventilation systems in mines, where it is necessary to constantly supply fresh air and remove waste. To do this, "Virtual laboratory. Aerology of mining enterprises" software was installed on computers, which simulates aero-logical processes in the mine atmosphere and the operation of measuring the equipment. Virtual simulator allows students to understand the principles of air movement in mines to ensure the safety of miners.
Laboratory was named after Marat Bitimbayev, a graduate of the university, an outstanding scientist, mining engineer and teacher, whose life is inextricably linked with Satbayev University. Marat Bitimbayev, editor-in-chief of Mining Journal of Kazakhstan, a student of Omirkhan Baikonurov, went from a mining master to Deputy Minister of Industry and Geology, combining the practical work with the scientific one, author of 83 inventions and 39 patents. The new laboratory was a gift from Marat Bitimbayev and his family to University in honor of 90th anniversary of Satbayev University.
“I am very pleased to see that the university where I studied and worked continues to educate new generations of engineers. This is a recognition not only of my merits, but also of the merits of all teachers and scientists who devoted their lives to creating the scientific and technical power of Kazakhstan,” Marat Bitimbayev said.
Laboratory named after Marat Bitimbayev will become a platform for training, and later for scientific research and elaboration of innovative methods to ensure the safe working conditions in the mining industry.
