We are working for the future: Satbayev University has signed a collective agreement

On January 17, there was held the signing ceremony of the collective agreement at KazNRTU named after K.I. Satbayev for the next two years. On the part of the Board, the agreement was signed by University Rector, Meiram Begentayev. Trade union organization’s chairperson Sholpan Omirzakova acted as a representative of the staff. The signing ceremony was attended by University Board and Trade union committee members.

People are the main driving force of science; the university staff has ambitious goals that cannot be achieved through one quantum leap. Implementation of President's message and steady growth in international ratings can be achieved just due to long-term systematic work. Therefore, Satbayev University administration, in their desire to provide the most comfortable atmosphere for the effective work of the team, is working for the future.

The social package for Satbayev University staff is one of the widest at the moment in the higher education system of Kazakhstan. It is aimed at building a reliable future for each of the scientists, teachers, and administrative employees. Since 2022, University social package includes:

New working time schedule:

  • Flexible working hours with mandatory stay at the workplace from 11:00 to 15:00;
  • Possibility of remote work - 2 days a week.

Employee Health Improvement Program:

  • Free access to the sports and recreation complex (professional examination and sports) during working hours;
  •  A program to ensure the improvement of employees’ and their close relatives’ health (check-up, screenings, rehabilitation after illness, day hospital, Anti-Age program and an expanded range of medical services for union members);
  • Subscriptions to fitness clubs and swimming pools.

New opportunities for recreation:

  • Recreation and psychological relief rooms and other socially important facilities;
  • Trade union recreation area for employees on the basis of training ground in Kapchagai;
  •  Vouchers to health resorts and children's health camps on the territory of Kazakhstan;
  •  Conducting cultural, sports and corporate events, team building, trainings, master classes.

Extended vacations:

  • Increased duration of paid leave for junior service personnel;
  •  Paid social leave (vaccination, marriage registration, funeral, birth of a child, screening studies, parents of first-graders and school leavers);
  • Additional paid leave: for large families with disabled children, accountants, medical workers, librarians.

Financial assistance:

  • Financial assistance in difficult life situations (fire, accident, complex surgery, treatment, disability, long-term illness, death of a family member, etc.)
  • Financial assistance in registering the first marriage;
  •  Assistance to large and low-income families, single mothers, families with children with disabilities by the beginning of the school year;
  • Food baskets, free medicines (in case of emergency and emergency situations).

Gifts for joyful occasions:

  • New Year's gifts for children under 14 years old. Until that time, gifts were given only to children under 10 years old.
  •  Cash gifts for anniversaries.

Also, the new collective agreement ensures the activities of Council of Rectors and "Aksakaldar Alkassy", this unique project unites well-known, honored scientists-professors who have continuously worked at the university for more than 30 years, who have made a significant contribution to University’s formation and development.
