Training of specialists in the field of equipment for mining, metallurgical and oil-gas industries. Training is conducted in three areas: "Mining machines and equipment"; "Metallurgical machines and equipment"; "Machines and equipment for oil and gas industry." The program has passed ASIIN (Germany) international accreditation.
You will acquire knowledge related to application of technological machines and equipment in mining, metallurgical and oil-gas industries, innovative technologies, as well as operation and repair of mining, metallurgical and oil-gas machines.
Based on Bachelor studies, students obtain general, extensive knowledge and basics of their chosen specialty, i.e. fundamental training, in which there is practically no narrow specialization.
Students study mathematics, physics, design and technological documentation, structural materials of technological machines and equipment, basic engineering and machine parts, resistance of materials, basic hydraulics and hydraulic drives of technological machines, installation and operation of technological machines. In addition to compulsory disciplines, students choose elective ones along education pathways.
You will be able to carry out strength calculations and calculations of machine designs, design, adjust, repair various types of equipment, solve problems of effective operation of mechanical equipment, and operate any complex of equipment in technological processes in mining, metallurgical and oil-gas industries as well.
The program provides one training, two production and pre-diploma practice, which include the study of production process and technological equipment of enterprises and technological equipment of the main workshops, the work regarding specific technological equipment, tooling and tools, collection of materials. Students practice at such enterprises as “Kazakhmys”, “Kazzinc”, “Kazatomprom”, “Almatymetrokurylys”, “Kazmunaygaz”, “Ongtustik-Munaygas”, “Karachaganak Petroleum Operating” etc.
The department implementing the educational program actively collaborates with external partners to conduct educational and research work. As part of academic mobility and an international exchange program, there is an opportunity to study at 97 world leading foreign universities.
Graduates work as engineers at production in mining, metallurgical, oil-gas industries, manufacturing, construction, road services, etc., at the same time specialists are responsible for a set of measures regarding operation of special machines in a particular area. They also establish the desired mode of operation, monitor performance of new equipment, i.e. its ability to cope with specified functions with parameters established by technical documentation requirements, order consumables and details, and decide on items connected with new equipment purchase.
