Training of technologists who are competent in processing of ores, in the work in mining, metallurgical, gold and uranium industries, as well as in extracting metals from high-purity ores and metal-containing products with high value-added.

The program is accredited by International agency ASIIN (Germany); Diploma is quoted in the countries of European Union, USA, in Southeast region.

Graduates receive Academic Master's degree in engineering and technology for 1.5 years of study or Master of technical sciences for 2 years.

The program is aimed at training specialists with knowledge of equipment design and creation of technologies for enrichment, as well as those who are capable of managing and implementing metallurgical projects, utilizing industrial waste, developing a set of measures to protect subsurface and environment, obtaining innovative products, conducting research, scientific activities.

You will gain knowledge directly related to technological processes of concentrating production, processing of minerals and techno genic raw materials, as well as equipment of mining and processing production, automatic control systems of concentrating production, using energy-saving and "green" technologies and materials. Alongside, production and sale of metallurgical products; elaboration of regulatory and technical documentation related to mining and metallurgical sector, improvement and preparation of metallurgical production facilities.

Undergraduates will gain skills of laboratory research, technological calculations, equipment selection and design due to modern computer technologies and programs.

Magistrates will undergo pedagogical, exploratory and research practice at enterprises such as "Kazatomprom", "Kazakhmys", "Kazzinc", "Ust-Kamenogorsk Titanium and Magnesium Combine", "Kazmekhanobr", "Institute of Metallurgy and Enrichment", "KAZ Minerals Aktogay" , "Zhairem Mining and Processing Plant", "Terekti Mining and Processing Plant", etc.

Under academic mobility programs, magistrates will have scientific internships at Moscow Institute of Steel and Alloys, Colorado School of Mines (USA), Worcester Polytechnic Institute (USA), Geotechnical Institute (Slovakia), University of Saskatchewan (Canada), Rhine-Westphalian Technical University Aachen (Germany), KTH Royal Institute of Technology (Sweden) and Suleyman Demirel University (Turkey).

Graduates will be ready to create small high-tech metallurgical businesses. They are in demand at engineering and management positions in mining and metallurgical sector - at concentrating and metallurgical enterprises, in design organizations, at metallurgical research centers, in chemical industry as well. They are empowered to teach in higher educational institutions.
