Geology and exploration of mineral deposits

The program of training specialists in the field of geological methods of prospecting and exploration of minerals with knowledge of features relating bedding formation and conditions, material composition of rocks and nature of concentration of minerals in them. The program is accredited by International agency ASIIN (Germany).

The program provides high-quality professional knowledge in geology, hydrogeological, geochemical and remote methods of prospecting and exploration of oil, gas, water, solid mineral deposits; in the organization and conduct of field geological research; processing, interpretation and modeling of the data; the calculation of reserves of mineral deposits; in the technology and technology of drilling wells.

You will know the stages of geological exploration, rational complexes of geological, hydrogeological, engineering-geological and geochemical studies, methods for solving direct and inverse problems when searching for and prospecting for mineral deposits; have an idea related to methods and principles of exploration process organization, classification of target objects in mineral deposits. You will acquire skills in analyzing geological data, their structuring, setting and solving target tasks in the field of geological methods connected with prospecting and exploring mineral deposits.

The program includes training in working with modern computer programs such as Micromine, Studio RM, Petrel, Eclipse, Pipesim, Gocad, Surfer, Geosoft, Geolog-Focus, Echos-Gold, Leafprog.

Professors from leading universities of near and far abroad, leading experts of manufacturing companies and research institutes are invited to lectures and consultations on contemporary problems of geology of solid minerals, oil-gas, hydrogeology and engineering geology. Students undergo training practice at their own training ground in Karatau and apprenticeships at research institutes, operator and service companies as “Karachaganak Petroleum Operating”, “Tengizchevroil”, “Kazgeology”, “PGD SERVICES”, “Kazakhmys”, “Kazzinc”, “Eurasian Industrial Association”, “Kazphosphor”, “Maykayyn-Zoloto”, “Kazatomprom”, “Zhairemsky GOK”, “Asemtas”, “Іzdenіs”, “Geoinsentr” etc.
