A workshop on the development of pedagogical skills was held at Satbayev University
The Petroleum Engineering department has held the faculty development workshop on modern pedagogical teaching and learning techniques on September 16-19. The seminar was conducted by Dr. Linda Battalora, Teaching Professor of Petroleum engineering from Colorado School of Mines.
The main purpose of the workshop was to embrace new techniques in teaching the undergraduate capstone “Multidisciplinary Petroleum Project Design” and “Petroleum Engineering Seminar” classes.
The workshop was consisted of but not limited to the following topics: project-based learning: group dynamics, the role of faculty, case studies, evaluation of works; necessity of the project-oriented course for the ABET accreditation; engineering projects, preparation of technical proposals and writing reports and much more.
The PE department is grateful for providing such a great opportunity to Colorado School of Mines, Chevron, Eni, and Shell companies and for support to the university administration.
