Ethics of Communication in an Inclusive Society: Guest Lecture Held at Satbayev University
A guest lecture titled “Ethics of Communication in an Inclusive Society” was held at Satbayev University and organized by the Department of Kazakh and Russian Languages. The event focused on issues of communication ethics, respectful language, and interaction within an inclusive educational environment.
The opening remarks were delivered by Dilyara Urmanova, Head of the Center for Support and Development of Inclusive Education at Satbayev University. In her speech, she spoke about the Center’s activities, its key areas of work, and its role in shaping an inclusive educational environment at the university, emphasizing the importance of a culture of respectful communication as the foundation of inclusion.
The guest lecture was delivered by Madina Bekbolatova, a certified journalist, educator, writer, and developer of guidelines on ethics and rules for writing media content about persons with disabilities. The speaker highlighted the principles of respectful communication, the use of appropriate and inclusive language, and responsible interaction in an inclusive society. As part of the event, participants also watched excerpts from a video lecture by Ilyas Fatkulin, Head of the Asian Network on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (JAN), recorded within the framework of Satbayev University’s inclusion courses. The video helped broaden the understanding of the topic and enriched the discussion.
